About
Our work sits at the intersection of AI governance, operational control, and aviation decision-making.
SayFlight builds the decision architecture that governs AI participation in regulated operations without eroding human authority or judgment.
The work is built around the way regulated aviation actually carries authority, judgment, accountability, and operational pressure.
SayFlight governs AI participation, tool authorization, and vendor evaluation. We are not an AI vendor, and any commercial relationship that could affect an operator recommendation is disclosed.
Every framework component has to survive real operational control: crew constraints, maintenance issues, customer pressure, irregular operations, and accountable authority.
Human authority and operational judgment are the design anchors for every architecture decision. The framework is built to preserve them, not engineer around them.
Operational decisions are captured when made, with context, rationale, constraints, authority, AI participation, and outcome intact. Audit trails reconstructed afterward are not accountability.
The structure comes before the tools. Boundaries, escalation paths, and evidence capture are defined so AI can participate in safety-sensitive workflows without outrunning the operation.
SayFlight changes when operational reality, regulation, or accountable authority requires it, not when the market changes language.
Founder
Founder of SayFlight. Creator of Operational Decision Architecture and Operational Decision Provenance.
Eighteen years inside aviation operations. Served in management positions under Part 119 with operational control authority across multiple operators. Duke University graduate.
SayFlight's AI governance work is grounded in operating roles where decisions, revenue, safety, and customer trust all moved together.
“The most operationally precise argument about AI governance in aviation I have heard in two decades of visiting Operations Control Centers.”Daniel Stecher, VP Business Development, IBS Software
“Toby has a brilliant business mind and runs operations tight and efficient. He was there to manage emergencies like moving our aircraft out of Hawaii during the tsunami warning. Both clients and employees gave me incredible feedback regarding working with Toby.”David Kruk, President, Vector One
